7 weeks/2 mo. check-up

Yesterday Beckett had his 2 month check up. I took him to this appointment expecting that he wouldn't be able to get his shots as he had started coughing and his breathing had gotten raspy. I was nervous that he had the strep that Decklyn was diagnosed with last Wednesday or maybe even RSV or something. Dr. Bohner checked the lil guy out and decided we wouldn't do shots yet as Beckett definitely had a cold in his chest. He is now on an inhaler, which does similar thing as a nebulizer. It is interesting giving inhaler treatments to a baby, but he does really well with it. I am glad he does so well because he gets a treatment every 4 hours. Along with the inhaler they also put him on a steroid to help with the swelling so his breathing won't be so raspy. Overall, he has been a happy and smiling little boy without a fever and still sleeping alright. We will go back to visit Dr. Bohner again on Thursday to make sure the medicine is helping clear things up for Beckett and then we will try to reschedule his 2 month shots hopefully for the following week. We are definitely tired of all the illness in our household. Decklyn has been sick with strep or earache 3 times since Beckett has been born. Justin and I are both sick with cold, sinus, or sore throat symptoms now. Hoping it is gone by this weekend for baptism.

As for his growth he is in the 90%ile for his weight and height which didn't surprise us at all! His head circumference was the 20%ile. Beckett is now 13 pounds 12.5 ounces and 24.5 inches long. His head circumference was 15.5 inches. Decklyn was 12lbs. 14 oz. at 2 months, so Beckett is a little bit bigger than his brother even a week earlier! :D Decklyn was also 24 inches long, so not much different there either. Looks like we will be raising some big boys- good for some football playing!!!
