Beckett is 2 weeks old!

I can't believe my baby is 2 weeks old! Beckett turned 2 weeks old on Sunday and seems to be growing like a weed and getting those cute chubby baby cheeks. When he was one week old he had a visit to the doctor and he weighed 8 lbs. 15 oz. He had gained an entire pound in one week. His hands were less wrinkly and he was definitely filling out. Then the next day Beckett had a Happy Baby visit to the house. He was weighed again and this time he was 9 lbs. 2 oz. At this rate he is going to be a body builder. LOL Not only is Beckett growing like a weed but he is starting to be more awake throughout the day- so we get to see his eyes more often. He is sleeping pretty well at night waking every 4 hours for a diaper change and a bottle. He definitely likes his bottles and is taking 4 ounces at a time. He is different from Decklyn in the fact that we can actually take the bottle away to burp him every ounce or two. Beckett also doesn't spit up like Decklyn did. It is amazing how much Beckett resembles Decklyn, but yet so many things make him seem so different. It is so much fun having the two boys around! We've got a great family started!

The last 2 weeks have gone by so fast and so much has happened in those 2 weeks. Beckett went on a visit to the Waukon Hospital to visit his Great Grandpa Bill. Beckett was only 5 days old when he met Grandpa Bill. We got some great pictures of them together, which was really special as Grandpa passed away in his sleep that night. I am so thankful that Beckett and Grandpa got to meet! It reminded me of when Decklyn was born and Justin's Grandpa Norb passed away. I guess the saying that the Good Lord giveth and the Good Lord taketh seems to have real meaning for us. I hope that each time we have kids we don't have to loose someone close to us.

Decklyn is adjusting really well to being a big brother. He loves to hold Beckett and loves to talk to him when he is crying. He also likes to carry his doll Calvin around and treat him the same way we treat Beckett- it's pretty cute! He even has his own diaper bag for Baby Calvin that he carries with him everywhere. He's even got some premie outfits that match Beckett's- check out the pictures below.
